Last One Dancing is a multiplayer game set in a grand Venetian ball. Players wear masks and blend into a crowded ballroom, dancing to the rhythm while trying to spot and eliminate rivals without exposing their own identities.
Gameplay & Mechanics
Dance Synchronization
The core loop revolves around staying in sync with the dance patterns. Moving out of rhythm makes you stand out, helping other players spot you in the crowd.
Stylized Visuals
The game features hand-crafted, stylized 2D character artwork representing classical Venetian masquerade characters. The user interface and visual design reinforce the mysterious ballroom atmosphere.
Working as a team
We built the game in a short game-jam cycle, so responsibilities overlapped. The main areas were:
- Tijana Mijatović: Networking lead, development and integration. Multiplayer synchronization and game-state systems, player and gameplay systems, item and inventory logic, boss and victory flow, debugging, and the Git workflow and merges that brought everyone's work together.
- Diana Ivanova: Development and animation integration. Multiplayer-authoritative player movement, networked NPCs and AI, combat-related systems, mask and sprite integration, and directional character animations.
- Hajar Rhachi: Lobby, UI and gameplay integration. Lobby and loading flow, early NetworkManager integration, game-room scene work, character spritesheets and animation, and the start, win and lose screen assets.
- Angelina Hess: Art and visual assets. Created most of the game's artwork and visual assets.
